Built in the early 1500s, the Villa di Piazzano was commissioned by Cardinal Silvio Passerini as a hunting manor. The Villa is situated in a beautiful private park of ancient Italian oak and linden trees and is surrounded by lush green hills where the Cardinal and his entourage hunted pheasants and wild boar. Today the Villa has been transformed into an elegant country residence and special attention has been dedicated to preserving the beauty and authenticity of the original building. The Villa is furnished with antiques belonging to the family and the rooms offer all the modern comforts and facilities.
Built by Cardinal Passerini in 1464, the Villa di Piazzano is classified as a historical estate. Completely restored and opened in 2001, the hotel now features 18 rooms, all elegantly furnished and air conditioned.
The pool has is immersed in a spectacular country setting and heated in the summer months to offer a comfortable temperature.
The hotel is family run and offers a personalised service of a high standard.
Children are most welcome at Villa di Piazzano. They can be catered for during meal times by offering simpler dishes which are not on the menu. The only restriction is a quiet period from 14:00 - 16:00 at the poolside during the siesta hours.

The rooms are all different and individually decorated. All rooms overlook different parts of the gardens and the surrounding hills.
The L'Antica Casina di Caccia restaurant offers an original menu, specialising in gourmet Tuscan cuisine.
The ingredients include local and fresh, the pasta is homemade.
The atmosphere is smart-casual, and dining mainly takes place on the terrace, overlooking the pool and Tuscan hills and countryside.
Special requests are taken into consideration for children and guests with dietary requirements.
The restaurant remains closed for both lunch and dinner every Tuesday.
From the Florence to Rome A1 autostrada exit at Bettolle-Valdichiana. After the toll booth turn right and follow the signs for Perugia. You will find yourself on a motorway heading for Perugia. Take the Castiglion del Lago exit and turn right towards Cortona. Pass the towns of Terontola and then Riccio, afterwhich turn right for Ossaia. Follow the road to the very end and turn right towards Mercatale. After approx. 4 km, at the end of the town of Pergo, turn right for Villa di Piazzano (road sign). Follow the main country road - the Villa is located at the very end of the cypress tree lined road. We highly recommend you arrive while there is still daylight and equip yourselves with a map of the area.
